About Me … the dater

My name is Connie Chyle. Friends call me Con. I’m a nearing 30 gal sadly dubbed as “terminally single.”

I can honestly say that meeting boys these days scares me senseless … but only because of the strange encounters I’ve been lucky enough to experience.

However, sometimes bravery (and loneliness … oh and that damn biological clock) encourage me to slyly venture out into the singles zone and attempt to meet a man – preferably a single, non-baggage carrying, working, attractive man with a vehicle (not necessarily in that order).  And let’s not forget the ever popular traits such as a great personality, intelligence, a sense of humor, kindness, and the ability to carry on an actual conversation.

At the risk of sounding like a hater to my generation I’ve noticed that many men my age have proven to act juvenile and are challenged when it comes to nurturing an ounce of ambition.

We all toss our coins of hope out into the universal fountain wishing for the fairytale ending we grew up reading about. In the meantime, while I wait patiently to hear back from Fate, I’ll continue to mingle in anticipation of finding a special man to take place by my side and in my heart.

Do you foresee a happy ending?

Here are my trials and tribulations of dating: some scary, some funny, and some that might make you say “What the …?!”

Enjoy =)

As soon as you give up on meeting the “right guy.” he will appear 🙂
I enjoyed your description of your dream man – especially the “working” and “with vehicle” requirements!
Think positive about a happy ending, and it will come to be.

    Good luck with your blogging!

Hello & thanks 😀 Ah the “right” guy – where is he?! Has anyone seen him? lol

      *Thinking positive*

Thanks for stopping by. Oh! And I’m looking forward to exploring your blog more too! 🙂

Your Blog is great, Connie. You’ll find the ‘one’ without settling for a ‘Larry’. Plenty of Plankton at the surface instead if the seaweed down at the bottom.
Look forward to future posts. 🙂
Twilight fan, huh? Have you read, The Host?

    • ConnieMaria March 3, 2012 at 11:57 am #

Hi Roy! Nice to meet ya! Thank you so much for the kind words!! 🙂

Twilight fan for suuuure. Lol And I’m not embarrassed to say it. Hahaha.

You know – I have to admit…I tried to read The Host but I just couldnt get into it 😦

      Did you read it?

I also heard mixed feelings on it. Like those that read The Host first (before the Twilight series) enjoyed it whereas those who read The Host affffter the Twilight series didn’t enjoy it as much.

      Whatcha think?

      • Roy Bronson March 3, 2012 at 11:08 pm #

        Hi Connie,
Actually I enjoyed them all: the complete Twilight Saga, and The Host. If you didn’t get past the intro, you didn’t see the same emotional drama that is portrayed in Twilight, just this time it’s an alien vs vampire. 😉
Ok, BIG Question: Team Jacob, or Team Edward?
I will say my feelings on the subject.
If the author intends for her to become a vampire and explicitly describes her feelings for Edward, way more than her confused emotions towards the dog, why on Earth would readers think she should have settled for Jake? Lol.

    Hi Roy!

Maybe I’ll try reading The Host again. 😛 Right now I’m reading the Hunger Games trilogy.

Hahahaha you’re funny. A lot of people were still convinced she would end up with Jacob. 😉 Poor puppy.

Oh and yeah I’m a Team Edward gal. Totally. Cant help myself 😀 Hehe

      Hi Connie,
I think if you push through the first half of Host, you will want to read to the end. 🙂
Only thing about Twilight that is slightly a downside is Leah. Did Meyer forget her, or did I miss something? Why did she have her bond with someone? Yeah, guess to give it a sense of reality, everyone can walk away happy.
But still, Renesmee is a perfect way to tie up the story. 🙂
With the movie coming out, I was thinking of checking the Hunger Games out as well! How is it so far?

      • Roy Bronson March 5, 2012 at 11:05 pm #

Why DIDN’T she have Leah imprint? Love the iPhone, but it waits until your not looking and drops words.. Lol.

      • ConnieMaria March 10, 2012 at 8:31 am #

Lol too funny (the iPhone comment). You know what – you make a great point. I think Leah should’ve been written a path to happiness…poor thing was so unhappy. Understandable though – I mean – understandable why she was so miserable. Who wants to see the love of their life all smitten over someone else right? 🙂

I think you’ve convinced me to give The Host another try – after I get through the Hunger Games trilogy. Lol. I loved the first novel – the second one is good so far. I just havent had much time for reading. Definitely looking forward to the movie 😀 March 23! Woohoo!

Hope you have a lovely weekend Roy! 😀

    Hi Connie!
In the begining of The Son of Neptune, but I am going to try and read The Hunger Games before the movie comes out. 🙂
Thanks for following my blog! Be careful not to trip on the debris… It is a work in progress! Lol.
Just got back from Florida for a week, but oddly we have warmed up here in the Midwest! Question is for how long! 😉

    • ConnieMaria March 14, 2012 at 9:02 pm #

      Hey Roy 😀

Cool! Let me know what you think of the book. A coworker and I are going to see it on the 24th! 🙂 Then lunch and then shopping. You know how girls are. Hehe

You’re welcome! Hey no problem. Work in progress is just fine- ya gotta fine tune and make it juuuust the way you like it. 🙂

Ohhh what part of FL? I live in South Florida.

      🙂

    Hi Connie,
Of course I need to FIND a copy of the book first! My primary method of consuming literary works is audio, but not by choice. I commute 130 miles a day and found listening to books is a good way to fill the time, but I would prefer to read. But I feel the ditch would claim me if I tried to read while driving, so have to use the ears. 😉
We were up at Eglin AFB, giving gas to some lawn dart planes (F-16’s). These trips come up all the time; some days I don’t know where I’ll be. Lol. 🙂
Need to use the iPhone and tell it to beep when I’m near a bookstore! Have you heard if the Hunger Games movie is the first book adaptation only, or multiple? Hollywood always seems to (muck it up) do their own enhancements!
    Wow, those POF awards!
I simply cannot believe some of those posts! The only thing that would make sense is if you had a ‘Megamind’ groopie that was making these posts to feel out what you’ll respond to, but with various personalities. To think that many crackpots exists is… Disturbing.
    Buy a stun gun! 😉

Hi Connie! Thanks for following my blog (that poor, neglected thing).
I love your take on things, and your lightly ironic voice. It makes me laugh and cringe and count my lucky stars that I’m way past the looking-for-the-right-guy stage.

    • ConnieMaria June 2, 2012 at 12:25 pm #

Lol happy to follow your blog 🙂 And thank you for stopping by mine! Glad you got a laugh out of it – admittedly they are funny experiences – no matter how horrifying they can be. 😛 See you around!
